A New Milestone

Tummy Time has become a lot more fun. Kira is now able to roll from her tummy to her back. She has the funniest look on her face when she lands on her back. She is so surprised she made it. She is hold her head up a lot better as well. She has also started talking a lot more. She just gabbles and coos to herself and it is so cute. She still loves to stand and sit up so she can see what is going on around her.

Kira and Mommy

So When we got our pictures taken the first time. There was not really any great ones of me and Kira. I wanted some that didn't show my post pregnancy chub (my double chin). Matt was a really great sport and helped me take some pictures that showed off my better side. I love all of these. Kira is adorable no matter when and where even if she is pooping on me. Although this time she was just perfect.
We also tried to recreate one of the earlier pictures we took when I was pregnant. It is not exact but I don't think that is really the point anyway.

Happy Halloween

It has been a crazy couple of days. Friday night Cass and I carved pumpkins. Her pumpkin was a lot cooler than mine, but she is more creative that way.
Then on halloween Andy, Kira and I made the rounds to visit the family. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Hansens first, then to Grandpa Max and Grandpma Arlenes, and finally to Grandma and Grandpa Palzas. Kira was the cutest Lobster in town. Kade was a monkey. I seemed to fit his personality so well.Who wants to play corners?
Kira and Me in our costumes. I was a mermaid to go allong with her costume.

Heaven Sent

We have finally got some professional pictures taken of Kira and what can I say but that she is my Angel sent to me from Heaven. You can't tell me you just don't fall in love with that face. Although she was being a little pill all the way through. She would not go to sleep and cried most of the time and when we had her diaper off for a while she pooped in my hands. Not the ideal situation but we did get some nice shots never the less.

The Many Faces of Kira

She makes the funniest faces I just had to capture a few of them so I can remember how cute she was at this age.

Six Week Update

Our Baby Girl is now Six weeks. It's crazy to think about. She is 22 inches long and seems to be getting bigger every minute. She is able to hold her head up really well, and push herself into a standing position. It has been a really fun rollercoaster ride, and usually I am not a big fan of roller coasters. We have now settled into a predictable routine. Mondays and Fridays she stays home with me and we read and I try to get some house work done usually one load of laundry is all that she lets me do. Then on Tuesday and Wednesday she goes and stays with her Grandma Julie and on Thursday she stays with her Pappa Dennis so that I am able to go to work. Kira and I in her cute outfit from Bolivia given to her by her Aunts Kiara and Katie. Thanks girls I just love it and so does she.
She doesn't like to be put down a whole lot right now. So in lieu of not having a carrier I put her in my purse she loves it sleeps like an angel and I am able to get some stuff done while she sleeps.
Cousin Kade has borrowed Kira's Exersaucer he thinks its pretty cool and at least right now she doesn't mind sharing.
We tend to wonder who puts who to bed.

Botched Camping Trip

Andy and I decided to go camping last weekend Oct. 2nd and 3rd. We figured we would just drive and wherever we ended up that is where we would spend the night. It was a fun idea I made tinfoil dinners and we bought marshmallows and since we were taking Andy's parent's camper it wasn't going to be easy and nice and warm.

WRONG! We seemed to have problem after problem.

We weren't able to leave until late Friday night. Which was ok but not ideal. We decided to camp up
Tony Grove and then go for a hike the next morning to White Pine. It was good night we had the heater and lights going and Kira seemed to be enjoying herself as well.

We spent the night there. The next morning we discovered that all our leisurly amenities, like heat and lights caused the battery in the truck to go dead. (Not supposed to get power from the truck) Thankfully we camped in area with a lot of other people, but we had to wait 3 hours until someone could give us a jump. So we couldn't go for our hike because we didn't have enough time now and it was snowing.

So we decide to go somewhere else, only to discover that the trailer batteries don't have enough power. Because of this our options were either to have no power and to freeze, to have power and let the truck battery go dead again and then freeze or to just go home. Odviously we chose option number 3 and came home.

Well all we can say is that we never seem to have boring trips.
