Moab Reunion

This last Weekend, We the Phillips Clan got together for a Reunion. It was really nice, because I hadn't been able to see and talk to a lot of my cousins in a while. It had been way too long. We all got together for a luncheon and pictures. Ofcourse next year we need to plan pictures first, I was constantly worried about getting my clothes dirty and especially about Kira. We also decided to take pictures at 2:00 in the afternoon outside in Moab. Hot doesn't even begin to describe it. Kira was not thrilled about and doesn't look to thrilled in all the pictures. I am hoping to them soon though, and I will post those.

Also while were all together we celebrated the coming of Heather and Dean's little girl Kendal. We are so excited for them and for Kira to have a cousin close to her age.

Unfortunately Kim and Chris had to go home after the luncheon, but later on we had a BBQ at Heather and Deans. They have a cute little house, and we were all packed inside. Ofcourse Kira is her cousins favorite toy, she was kept very busy the whole night. We also got to see Kendals nursery done in jungle theme it is darling. Heather is so talented and patient.

Back Yard Fun!

So for the first time all summer. I have used my yard. Wendy and Makenna came over and we played in the water. It is so nice in the back yard because by 4:00 pm the whole thing is in shade, so its not so hot. We had fun letting Kira and Makenna walk through the water while the fountains were going, but they had more fun once we turned them off and they could just sit in the water.

There's that cheeser I just love.

2nd, 3rd, 4th of July?

This year for the 4th of July we had a very quiet weekend. We didn't do the stadium fireworks because we were sure they would frighten Kira and besides they were at least an hour and half after her bedtime anyways. So instead we set of some fireworks off in the driveway for her on the 3rd like every good Utahn. Even those she was not thrilled about she only lasted about ten minutes before we had a screaming fit on our hands. I guess I have learned you may never be too old for fireworks but you may be too young. Maybe in a few years.

Kira has decided that big people food is the kind of food she wants to eat, so now she gets a bath 3 times a day... Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. So the other day we decided to try out spaghetti. She definitely seemed to like it, she got really into the noodles which ended up in her lap rather then her mouth but that didn't seem to matter much.

Fun in the Sun, Maybe...

Kira got the opportunity to go out and play in her turtle pool with her aunt. She was all happy and having a good time until I came out to take a picture then she decided she was done and wanted to get out.
I don't know about these little girls they are just so fickle.

Splish Splash I am Outside at Last

Kira finally got to wear her swimsuit and get in some water. Her Grandma bought her a fun little water toy that you hook the hose up to and it shoots water out in little fountains.

Kira was a little timid and didn't like the water splashing in her face but once we turned the hose off and she could just sit in the water and splash herself by herself she had a really great time.

Besides you gotta love her swimsuit, if nothing else it was a good excuse to put it on.

Best Birthday Gift

This last week we were able to get together with some of my friends and our children. It was a bit strange because since the last time we got together we have added one more to the ranks and the other little ones were mobile which caused a lot of confusion considering they outnumbered the adults two to one.

We decided to go to Central Park and just have snacks. It was fun to catch up with everyone and how things are going in their lives. We need to do stuff like this more often, but it is definitely a struggle to plan. We sat and talked, watched our children play together, ate some snacks and had cupcakes for my birthday. Aja, Aiden and Sam; Wendy and Makenna; LeeAnne, Carlitos and Lucas; Jen, Tom, Kenny, Max, Charlie and Alyse; and Kira and I were able to come. Definitely a big crowd, Thanks Girls for such a great time it was the best gift this year.

Alyse, Kira and Sam seemed to get along really well but of course the coolest toy to play with was the one someone else had.
