Three Weeks Already

I can't beleive it has been three weeks already. It has been crazy. It is amazing how I can be busy all day and the only thing I can show for my day is one load of laundry. I am loving being a mom, although I would have like to have waited a few more years now that Kira is here I can't imagine my life without her.
She now weighs 7 pounds 13 ounces and is 21 inches long. How quickly they seem to grow, and seem to stay so small at the same time.

My Grandmother came up and visited a few weeks ago. It was nice to have her here. We went out to eat and played games. And ofcourse held the baby. We also took pictures in the backyard.
At the restaurant having dinner.
Four Generations
Sunday Dinner over at my In-Laws has been forever changed. Now with two babies you never know what is going to happen. Kira chose to pea all over the couch the first Sunday we were there. Kade finds her really interesting while Kira could care less about him.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the last three weeks.
My dad holding Kira. A little bit of a spit-up mess but we got her all cleaned up. Mind you "Mom" looked just as good all over her new shirt.
Who's the fairest of them all, Now. Ooh big Yawn. How are my tonsils, Doc...

Daddy and Kira. It was a rough night.
Kira in her swing. She is to small to sit upright in it so sideways is the next best way.

The Princess has Arrived

Kira McBride Hansen has finally made her debut into the world. Sunday, I went into labor. Andy and I decided that we would go for a walk to my in-laws for lunch to see if that could help me go into labor, well I can vouch for that one. My water broke, incidently it broke at my in-laws after the prayer. I didn't even have time to say amen. I appologized to my in-laws and was really embarrassed. I just couldn't beleive of all the times although I truly could think of worse places. I had an interesting labor, they had to do my epidural twice cause they only numbed half my body and while I was pushing the pump quite working so part of the time I was doing it naturally, Fun!! Andy was so great through the whole process he really did help me out, I bet that is really tramatizing to husbands. Kira came at 1:41 monday morning August 31, 2009. She was 7 pounds 12 ounces and 19 inches long. She also was a cone head (She still is to some degree but nothing like what she was). Thankfully it has turning into a more normal shape.
The new proud Papa.
My Princess and I resting after our big day.

We decided to let friends and family know early that morning. That day we had an influx of friends and family. It was really nice to see everyone, even though I was still tired from the nights events.
My Family and Andy's Family each taking turns holding Kira. Sharing is a difficult thing when it comes to a baby apparently.
Maria and Julie came earlier that day, during their lunch breaks to see our new addition. My mom and sister were so excited see her. Cassidy is a very proud new aunt. She will be a great one too.
Later that evening Klay, Julie, Stacey, and Jason came to visit it was nice to have them there they each took turns holding the baby, although Klay was a little reluctant to do so at first but he warmed to the idea later.

Stacey and Kira.
Jason holding Kira. He is now really really baby hungry. Good luck Stacey with that one.

Unfortunately the pediatrician came in the next morning to tell us that Kira had Jaundice. It's where there is too much billirubin(a toxin) in the blood and Kira's liver is trying to filter it out but isn't working fast enough. So she had to be placed under a special light. That was really hard because she had to stay under the light except for when she was being fed or having her diaper changed. Grandparents and visitors didn't like it either because they didn't get to hold her but only look at her when they visited.
It was funny her little eye patches never would stay on straight, and we had to put the booties on her hands to keep her from grabbing it.

We finally got to take her home on Wednesday at around 11:00 it was really nice to be out of the hospital. Although I didn't think the food was all that bad.We had to have a billibed come home with us. So that Kira could get better. She was on it Wednesday, Thursday, and part of Friday. At her first doctors visit he said that we could take her off the light that the billirubin in her blood was going down. Yeah!! Now we are finally home and everyone gets to hold her.
One proud Grandpa
Over at Grandma and Grandpa Hansen's House playing with her cousin Kade.
We have given Kira her first bath. Which she hated every minute of. But she got wrapped up in froggy towell and was just fine afterward. Mind you she spit up her dinner and the point of the bath was completely null and void after that.
I know a lot has happened since she was born. She is now 5 days old and Andy and I are loving every minute of it. I'm not getting any sleep, he is getting very little but we wouldn't trade her for the world.
