Mobile Me

Kira has learned to crawl. I am so proud of her. She learned to crawl about a week and half ago but it was a crawl two steps flop kind of thing. I got a video of her crawling then but she was not happy about it at all, but I had her bottle and she was willing to struggle through to get to it. Now she is able to crawl quite a ways, she it still having trouble with hard surfaces cause she slides but otherwise I have a mobile baby. She moves a lot and does not like to stay in one place for very long at all. Looks like I better get a move on and buy her a baby gate.

Ears Pierced

I have finally done it. I have been saying forever that I was going to have Kira's ears pierced and I just hadn't done it. Now I have. She was not happy with me that day, and we held onto her head to hold her still she really didn't like that. So she screamed for about 20 minutes. Now she doesn't even realize that they are in her ears. So I am happy we got them done now.

Half Birthday

Finally 6 months old. Oh where has the time gone. My little girl has gotten so big. Kira turned 6 months old at the end of February. She is such a big girl now. It amazes me how quickly kids grow. So on her half birthday we celebrated by giving her an Angel Food Cake. She seemed to really like the candle (which I blew out), but then she just dug into the cake, mostly liking the feel of the cake between her fingers, but also getting some in her mouth.

Mmm. CAKE
My little Angel and I.

Half a year in review. She has had some really amazing accomplishments in only 6 months.
  • Can roll from tummy to her back
  • Sits up all by herself
  • Can hold her own bottle
  • Can scoot backwards
  • Has two teeth in the bottom
  • Can hold herself in a standing up position by the coffee table
  • Can walk with help
  • Has completely taken over everybody's hearts

Leggins

Ofcourse Kira has some new leggins. She needed some to go with this dress since it is still cold outside. So I made them out of shirt sleeves. I think they turned out really good and she was looking so cute in them I had to take a picture.

Already an Aggie

Kira is the third in a long line of Aggie supporters. Both Papa and Mama D went to USU, Grandpa Brent goes to all the Basketball games, and ofcourse Mommy is a graduate of USU. So naturally Kira's support would have to be with the Aggies.
Getting ready to go to the Gymnastics meet with Mom and Grandma. Have to wear our USU shirts.

Teeth!

Kira is getting some teeth and has been pretty miserable. The body snatchers took my happy little girl and replaced her with a grumpy little monster. To help with her teeth we gave her her first cracker she didn't know quite what to do with it at first but she sure was enjoying it later.
Mostly she just liked to smash it in her hand, but crackers are now a staple of her diet. She has two teeth in the bottom and was getting one in the top but it went back in. She has mellowed out again now that the initial coming in is over but I am so not looking forward to the return of the grumpy little monster for the next set of teeth.

Happy Birthday Papa

My Dad's birthday was February 6th also, So that following Sunday we went out for breakfast to celebrate his birthday at his favorite restaurant Angie's. It was a fun time, Kira was enjoying herself looking at all the people and trying to get her hands into everyone's food.

Kira has look that says she is up to no good. Grandma feels that this is one of the best pictures of her she has seen in years.

Kade's Birthday

Ok, so I am behind again. Kade turned one on February 9th, so the weekend before Angela and Jordan had a birthday party for him. Both sides of the family were there, it was a bit more wild than the Hansen's are used to. The Hawkes have a lot of kids and grandchildren to really fill up Ang's house. Kira had a really great time. She was passed around a lot, but she liked all the attention she was getting.
Cousins Saying "Hello"
Angela made Kade the cutest cake. It was shaped like a dinosaur. Kade really dug into his cake and by the time he was done he had it everywhere. But that is really the whole point is to let them enjoy it, and BOY did he enjoy it.

Ha Ha I have cake and you Don't!

Playing with My Food

Kira is getting so big. She has recently fed herself. Although she doesn't understand that her food comes out of the bowl, she thinks the spoon just magically has food on it. I love it she is so cute gnawing on her spoon. After she made a substantial mess we gave her a bath in Grandma's sink. It was fun, but getting the rice cereal out of her hair was a challenge.
